According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), around 900 pieces were learned. Material was without tax documentation.
A load of 900 pieces of counterfeit clothing from famous brands was seized on Saturday afternoon (24), in a bus on BR-242, a section of the city of Seabra, in Chapada Diamantina. The information is from the Federal Highway Police (PRF).
According to the PRF, the police stopped a bus on the São Paulo-Irecê route. Initially, vehicle and driver documents were requested. According to the PRF, when asked about the material transported, the bus driver reported that he was carrying some packages in the luggage compartment.
The team decided to check the cargo hold when they came across boxes of goods. The garments were stamped with famous brands and showed clear signs of counterfeiting. In addition, the material was tax documentation.
Also according to the PRF, the bus driver, a 48-year-old man, declared that he had no knowledge of the "quality" of the material he was transporting. He also informed that the cargo was shipped in the city of Caetité, in southwestern Bahia.
Those responsible for the counterfeit products have been identified. The occurrence was referred to the Civil Police of Seabra, for tax and industrial property crimes. A team from the State Secretariat of Finance (SEFAZ/BA) was called in to carry out the administrative procedures.
