Deic seizes more than 190,000 products during operations to combat counterfeiting

The last phase of the action took place yesterday (26) and totaled around 118.4 thousand items seized.


The Civil Police, through the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), seized 190,490 products during the four phases of the “Outlet” operation, which took place in São Paulo to combat the sale of counterfeit goods, especially articles of clothing and accessories of fashion. The last step of the action took place this Thursday (26).


The operatios was held by the 1st Precinct of the Division of General Investigations (DIG). After investigations and intelligence activities, the agents identified 12 centers specialized in selling counterfeit goods and went to the locations to carry out the verification.


As a result, in the first phase of the operation, which started in March of this year, 6,752 items were collected. On Monday, in June, 26,646 products were seized. The third and fourth stages of the action took place this month, one on the 12th and another yesterday (26th), resulting in the seizure of 38,643 and 118,449 goods, respectively.


All the collected material was sent to the expert and a total of 12 people were identified and heard for crimes against industrial property.
