Factory that counterfeited liquid laundry soap is closed in Canoas

The Civil Police launched, on Tuesday morning (11), Operation Abluente to curb crimes of fraud, against consumer relations and against industrial and brand property in Canoas, Campo Bom and Porto Alegre.

 

In the Niterói neighborhood, in Canoas, the police found a clandestine factory for the production and counterfeiting of liquid soap for clothes under the OMO brand. The factory produced up to 25 thousand liters of liquid soap per week, with a turnover of approximately R$ 500 thousand per month.

 

At the site, approximately 3.2 thousand liters of liquid soap were found to be packaged and 240 units ready for sale, in addition to 10 thousand empty packages, several boxes with the Unilever brand, tags and labels. Three people were arrested in the act.

 

A truck, a van and two other vehicles were seized. The clandestine product was sold in at least 23 cities in Rio Grande do Sul: Bom Jesus, Constantina, Encantado, Estância Velha, Frederico Westphalen, Giruá, Horizontina, Ibiaçá, Nova Bassano, Palmeira das Missões, Planalto, Sananduva, Santo Augusto, Venâncio Aires, Veranópolis, Ijuí, Santo Ângelo, Cerro Largo, Porto Xavier, São Luiz Gonzaga, Catuípe, Três Passos and Cruz Alta.

 

In addition to the Civil Police, Operation Abluente counted on the participation of the Public Ministry and Health Surveillance.
