The Federal Revenue Service seized today (9/9) about 20 thousand pairs of sneakers during an operation carried out in a store in a shopping center in the region of Brás. In addition to not having proof of regular importation, the products had evidence of counterfeiting. The estimated value of the seizure is R$ 2 million. The identified practice harms Brazilian merchants, importers and producers who act legally, evades legitimate jobs and evades taxes, which are no longer collected from the public coffers, in addition to bringing risks to the health of the consumer.
