In Barra do Turvo-SP, PRF seizes 1400 pairs of counterfeit sneakers.

Around 3 pm this Saturday (20) during an inspection at km 542 of BR-116, in Barra do Turvo / SP, the PRF seized 1400 pairs of counterfeit sneakers, which were being transported in a Mercedes Bens Accelo truck, , led by a 35-year-old man.

The policemen were conducting inspections on the highway when they approached the truck. The driver said he was freighting logists from the capital of São Paulo to Rio Grande do Sul.

When checking the cargo compartment, the PRF team found approximately 1400 pairs of sneakers with signs of counterfeiting from famous brands.

The products were packed in black bags, transparent bags and boxes that do not match the original products of the aforementioned brands.

The PRF called the representatives of the original brands, who attested that the product was fake.

The incident was referred to the Civil Police Station of Barra do Turvo-SP. The sneakers were seized. The driver was accompanied by a 21-year-old helper. They were heard and liberated. The truck was also released after the cargo was seized.

The Civil Police registered a police report for the practice of the crimes provided for in Art. 66 of the Consumer Protection Code, Art. 175 of the Brazilian Penal Code and crime against the brand, according to art. 190, item I of the Industrial Property Law (Law No. 9,279 / 1996). Investigations will identify those responsible for the forgery.
