Toys had signs of counterfeiting and would be imported, but they were seized at the Port of Itajaí.
A large load of toys with evidence of counterfeiting was seized at the Port of Itajaí by the Federal Revenue, on Monday (9). The cargo would be imported, but it was registered as “suitcases, pictures and party items”.
The Federal Revenue estimates that the value of the products, at resale, may reach R$ 1.8 million.
According to them, part of the products did not have authorization to use the brand. In addition to harming the local economy, counterfeit toys are not inspected by Inmetro (National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology) and can be dangerous for children who use them.
