Man arrested on suspicion of selling counterfeit beverage in Sorocaba
An investigation by Deic in Sorocaba (SP) began with several complaints about the sale of counterfeit drinks at parties and clandestine wineries.
A 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of selling counterfeit drinks in the Wanel Ville neighborhood, in Sorocaba (SP), this Friday (20).
According to the Specialized Division of Criminal Investigations (Deic), the officers carried out a search and seizure warrant that ended in the suspect’s arrest.
The investigation began with several reports of the sale of counterfeit drinks at parties and clandestine wineries, causing a huge risk to the health of those who consume them.
The man had around 80 bottles of various labels of whiskey, vodka and gin. Some labels are of well-known brands, however, with flavors that do not exist.
The suspect was taken to Deic, where he remained at the disposal of Justice.
